Lucidchart is BYU's preferred flowchart/diagramming tool. This powerful software has replaced our licenses with Microsoft Visio. This online, cloud-based solution allows your whole team to build dynamic solutions. This visual language accelerates collaboration and improves communication, helping people make the right decisions. Lucidchart can bring to life the plans that will propel your teams ideas.

Frequently Asked Questions

    1. Log in to your personal account through lucidchart.com
    2. Select Account settings by clicking on your profile logo
    3. Select Document Settings
    4. Download a backup of your documents
    5. Log in to your BYU enterprise account through lucid.byu.edu
    6. Restore files from the backup you just downloaded by selecting Choose File
    7. Once the restoration is complete, select View restored documents and you will be able to view and organize the documents as needed

    NOTE: Restoring files onto the BYU Lucidchart account will automatically place all restored files into one folder under the name restore-<date>. Files will need to be manually organized into the desired folders by the user as the original folder organization is not maintained when files are transferred between accounts.
  • You can transfer ownership of documents and boards from both the Documents page and from within the editor.

    To transfer ownership, follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to Share from your Documents page or from within the editor of the document you wish to transfer ownership of, as described in the sections above.
    2. Select Manage in the Collaborators section.
    3. Click the sharing permissions icon for the person you would like to transfer ownership to.
    4. Select Make owner.
    5. In the confirmation window that appears, select whether or not you would like to remain as a collaborator.
    6. Click Make owner.

    The new owner will receive a notification that they are now the owner of the document or board.
